Key responsibilities

Student fees

Administer the student fees scheme

Student fees advice to relevant stakeholders, students and staff (incl. systems and publications)

  • Provide written and oral information/advice regarding student fees to current and prospective students, parents, staff and other external stakeholders
  • Maintain the University’s online fee schedules for course fees, administrative fees and miscellaneous charges
  • Provide approved fees for SI-net system configuration
  • Prepare unit of study schedules for publication for domestic students
  • Prepare indicative tuition fees for publication for prospective students
  • Provide indicative fees for CRICOS, ACIR, and corporate publications
  • Develop and review student fee-related policies and procedures.

Administer the University’s fee setting processes and new discipline descriptor applications

Scholarships

Responsible for management of the University’s Senate approved financial awards (scholarships and prizes).

Scholarships and prizes

  • Manage application, selection and award processes for key (University wide) scholarships and prizes.
  • Payment of all Senate approved awards to students.
  • Monitor the ongoing eligibility of award recipients, including the requirement to show cause, and maintaining and updating information on SI-net.

Policy and compliance

  • Manage processes for approval of rules for new scholarships and prizes and changes to rules.
  • Ensure rules for scholarships and prizes are consistent with relevant University policies and legislation, administrable and appropriate, and support the student experience.
  • Ensure official records related to scholarships and prizes are maintained.

Enquiry Management

  • Provide written and oral information/advice regarding Senate-approved awards, major scholarship programs and student fees to current and prospective students, parents, school contacts, staff and other external clients.

Liaison and Advisory

  • Provide authoritative information/advice regarding Senate-approved awards, major scholarship programs and student fees to current and prospective students, parents, school contacts, staff and other external clients.
  • Monitor and provide feedback and recommendations based on competitive scholarship offerings across the sector.

Finance and budgeting

  • Payment of scholarships and prizes to students and other authorised persons or entities (e.g. residential colleges)
  • Prepare account payments, reconciliations and budget forecasts for scholarships and prizes
